I Am Doing My Thanksgiving Blog Differently

Gratitude and thankfulness, along with perseverance are all parts of what makes the American Thanksgiving holiday unique. This year I am doing my Thanksgiving blog differently. As I have expounded annually about this holiday for over a decade, and most people are out of their rhythm this week, I am giving you options.

I have linked four of my past blogs below. Reviewing the big ideas regularly is good for me, and I don’t pretend to think, even if you have read them before, that you will remember these posts.

Each of the links has a short excerpt. Read one or read them all. Please share if you are led.

You Choose.

These Thanksgiving blogs touched me again as I am reminded how Abba gave me themes and words to communicate in years past. Especially the last one.

My Mom died on Thanksgiving 10 years ago today and I did not remember that until this morning. It is a little sobering, yet I think of her almost daily considering how I have been eternally blessed through her life.

I ask the Lord to reveal to you something the Holy Spirit put in any of these posts which will help you know how much Jesus loves you.

This is already too long.

And please know that I am thankful for every person who has ever read any of these eleven years of blogs.

Thanksgiving Is My Favorite Feast Day

“The passengers of the Mayflower understood the power of the Biblical principles of celebration and giving thanks. Eventually our Thanksgiving Day became an official holiday.”

Thanksgiving 2017

“It is not just a prayer of thanks; it is a prayer of orientation. One that sets his, and consequently our, priorities aimed directly at the Creator of all things.”

A Cairn of Gratitude

“Cairns can mark a “thin place” – a place where heaven and earth seem to come closer.”

Walking Through the Valley Of The Shadow Of Death 2014 Ten years ago today

“Over the last two months I was honored to journey with my mom through the valley of the shadow of death, then hand her off to cross through the gates of splendor.”

May Abba bless you beyond all you can ask or imagine,

Andrea

About the author

Andrea Van Boven (Madden): I like to think I am a radical lover of Jesus, but I live in a house and pay bills and look like I fit in with respectable society, like most people. What goes on in my head and heart are hopefully the things that betray the look of "normal" that comes at first glance. I hope those things inside of me seep out to actions as well as words of hope and encouragement. I pray that these in turn will lead others to know the loving Creator who knows us so intimately that he has a number for every hair on every head.
