A banner is a kind of flag. In the days the Bible was written, a banner over the ruler’s castle meant that the royal owner was in residence, physically present.
The context for this verse in Song of Solomon is the allegory of the love our Creator has for us. We are His people, His chosen Bride.
For us today:
The idea of the banner of our Creator’s love flying visibly over us, seen in the Spirit, signifies the presence of the Holy Spirit residing in those who have a relationship with Jesus.
With this love over us, and in us, we have access to immeasurable Kingdom resources.
This banner of love is the driving force that brings healing from our brokenness.
This love is drawing us closer to our King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
Because He loves us first,
It also means we have all the love, and other resources we need to give to others when we ask. As a result, many others can receive love and healing through the love of God!
When cooperating with His love, we have enough of God to do all that he calls us to do. They are His ideas. He wants us to succeed. So, He provides freely.
Ask
The more love we receive from the original source, the more we have to share. Christ in us, the hope of glory, not only for ourselves, but to all who will come when they hear.
Look for opportunities.
The King is in residence. His banner over us is love. Let’s spread His banner of love.
Ask who, how, where. . . The possibilities and the power of love are endless.
Thank you for the image of God’s banner over my home. I will picture this banner over my family, also. God bless you, Andrea. Diane
