Be Still and Know That I Am God

Be still and know that I am God.

I never sleep nor slumber so you can rest in me.

Yes, I give you things to “do,” but move out from your place of rest in me to realize them.

Do this on earth as it is in Heaven.

It is from this place of rest that I can give you the strategies that streamline your assignments.

Be still and know that I am God.

Begin here every day.

Even before you rise, remember we are best friends.

Greet me without fear.

Or better yet, let me greet you with my love for you.

Be still and know that I am God.

Invite my good promises that you have stored in your heart to flood over you.

Let’s begin each day in my perfect love that comes from complete forgiveness and safety.

You are free in Me.

Be still and know that I am God.

Choose to move through your day aware that I am always with you. . . and in you.

I love our running dialogues.

As we talk, and your heart is trusting me, you can hear me leading you gently all along the way.

Your heart for the new, secure in your seat beside me, brings me more delight than you know!

Be still and know that I am God.

About the author

Andrea Van Boven (Madden): I like to think I am a radical lover of Jesus, but I live in a house and pay bills and look like I fit in with respectable society, like most people. What goes on in my head and heart are hopefully the things that betray the look of "normal" that comes at first glance. I hope those things inside of me seep out to actions as well as words of hope and encouragement. I pray that these in turn will lead others to know the loving Creator who knows us so intimately that he has a number for every hair on every head.

  1. Andrea, Thank you for this beautiful meditation. I was reading in Luke this morning the words of Jesus, “My words will never pass away.” God is with us and in us. We continue to go deeper in with each minute we spend being still with God. It is hard to be still! I love the picture of your precious dog being still!!! God bless you. Love, Diane Shandor

  2. Andrea, Thank you once again for this reminder of being still. I am working on it, but don’t seem
to make much progress. Would love to be as still as Nellie some day.
