Remember the Majesty of God

Remember the majesty of God, every day. Speaking for myself, all too often I forget it, every day. Many characteristics of our current cultures strive to distract and divert us from the truth of who our Creator is. This affects how we understand ourselves and our times. I need to consciously align, and realign, my thoughts and my being, with the Majesty of God.

I am not in charge. Our never changing, always loving God is in charge. That is part of what majesty means. We are part The Eternal Kingdom, and the roles of each one of us in this Kingdom are tremendously important.

Join me in looking for indications of our Creator’s majesty, and how it can inspire us to align with The Kingdom of God. [Hint: do not miss the footnote to the last verse.]

Psalm 93 The Majesty of God

1 Look!

Remember:

Yahweh now reigns as King!

He has covered himself with majesty and strength,

wearing them as his splendor-garments.

Regal power surrounds him as he sits securely on his throne.

Remember:

He’s in charge of it all, the entire world,

and he knows what he’s doing!

Remember:

2 Lord, you have reigned as King from the very beginning of time.

Eternity is your home.

3-4 Chaos once challenged you.

The raging waves lifted themselves over and over, high above the ocean’s depths, letting out their mighty roar!

Remember:

Yet at the sound of your voice

they were all stilled by your might.

Remember:

What a majestic King,

filled with power!

Remember:

5 Nothing could ever change your royal decrees;

they will last forever!

Remember:

Holiness is the beauty that fills your house;*

you are the one who abides forevermore!

Psalm 93:1-5 TPT * Believers are now God’s house, made holy by the blood of Jesus. See 1 Corinthians 3:16 and Hebrews. 3:6, (TPT footnote)

Remember: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2

May we all find rest and complete shalom remembering the majesty of God. May we daily align and realign to joyfully fulfill our destinies in the Kingdom of God.

About the author

Andrea Van Boven (Madden): I like to think I am a radical lover of Jesus, but I live in a house and pay bills and look like I fit in with respectable society, like most people. What goes on in my head and heart are hopefully the things that betray the look of "normal" that comes at first glance. I hope those things inside of me seep out to actions as well as words of hope and encouragement. I pray that these in turn will lead others to know the loving Creator who knows us so intimately that he has a number for every hair on every head.
