Becoming Whole Conference October 6, 7 & 8

This letter is out a day early on purpose. This weekend, beginning Thursday evening, my church, Christ The Redeemer Anglican, 188 Elliott Street Danvers, MA 01923, is hosting a healing conference. Please find more information below. The information is adapted from the church communications because I am focused the conference. If you are anywhere in the area please come if you can.  Please pray for all of us hosting. There are nearly 200 registered already. The Isaiah 40 Foundation team is coming from Canada and Vermont.

God desires every last one of us, young and old alike, to be whole. Even the Greek word for salvation, sozo, includes the concept of becoming whole.  “To be complete, lacking in nothing”, this is God’s heart for us as a local church and the Church universal.

Our hearts’ cry is that God will form us together into communities that increasingly reflect God’s healing love and grace. We all have a long way to go, even the ones we might think are the most Godly. I don’t know about you, but I want to spend my life letting go of everything that entangles me. Let’s run for this prize of knowing Jesus, becoming more like Jesus, becoming a completely open and free-flowing channel of God’s love.

Christ The Redeemer’s October conference begins tonight. Lead by the Rev. Canon Alex Cameron and a team from the Montreal-based Isaiah 40 Foundation, the conference is designed to provide deeper insight into inner healing and to create and build awareness of God’s call to everyone to become channels of His healing love.

This will be an intensive time of teaching and ministry, to equip us for greater love and greater service. It is an opportunity for each of us to exercise humility, recognizing we all have room to grow, learn and change.

The conference covers foundational principles of our relationship with God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; with ourselves as body, soul and spirit; and with one another. Participants also learn to reclaim and maintain these essential relationships to live more fruitful lives.

Attendance is free but a free-will offering will be taken to cover the considerable expenses associated with running it. Pre-registration is important so there are enough materials and food for everyone. That said, if you feel lead to come at the last-minute, please come!

Event Schedule:

Thursday evening Oct. 6th, 6:30 (sign-in),  7p.m.-9:30p.m.

Friday evening Oct. 7th,  7p.m.-9:30p.m.

Saturday Oct. 8th, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Please pray for God to prepare everyone in attendance to receive everything God has to teach us in this time.

About the author

Andrea Van Boven (Madden): I like to think I am a radical lover of Jesus, but I live in a house and pay bills and look like I fit in with respectable society, like most people. What goes on in my head and heart are hopefully the things that betray the look of "normal" that comes at first glance. I hope those things inside of me seep out to actions as well as words of hope and encouragement. I pray that these in turn will lead others to know the loving Creator who knows us so intimately that he has a number for every hair on every head.
