Have you ever asked God to lead you on a level path? Think about it a moment.
I think it is safe to say we all have experienced lots of mountains in our lives. I have hiked several literal mountains, but I’m talking about seemingly insurmountable challenges.
It is safe to say I, and probably you, have had more of those mountains than physical ones.
What does Jesus have to say to us?
Asked why a demon did not leave a boy when the disciples prayed: “He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”[e] Matthew 17:20
The holy Spirit reminds us of this through John when he wrote after Jesus ascended. “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
As we mature in our faith, we have more occasions to test these truths of faith and Christ in us. Every seemingly insurmountable challenge is an opportunity to ask for a level path.
Then we watch Him work.
“The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous.
In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul.” Isaiah 26:7-8
Abba,
“Teach me your way, O Lord, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.” Psalm 27:11 And not only because of my enemies, but to make Your name glorious! You can use even me, even anyone who authentically calls on your name, Jesus! We choose to be a generation of Mountain movers who walk on Your level paths. Amen
