Preparation For Passover

Today is the day of preparation for Passover

Truth is,

our lives are continual preparation

Leaving slavery behind

crossing over to freedom

as the Bride

Preparation can be hard work

when done as a slave

but joyful when done as The Bride

Crossing over can be fearful

leaving the known behind

unless our gaze is on the Groom*

Let’s put off the old

with its false hopes and lies

to embrace the new

with its never-ending hope

and eternally reliable promises

*Hebrews 12:2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

About the author

Andrea Van Boven (Madden): I like to think I am a radical lover of Jesus, but I live in a house and pay bills and look like I fit in with respectable society, like most people. What goes on in my head and heart are hopefully the things that betray the look of "normal" that comes at first glance. I hope those things inside of me seep out to actions as well as words of hope and encouragement. I pray that these in turn will lead others to know the loving Creator who knows us so intimately that he has a number for every hair on every head.
