“Will You Accommodate It?” – Shawn Foster

As awakening spreads across the globe from the seed of Asbury University, we all have one question to answer. “Here is the seed of the Kingdom, will you accommodate it?”

There is awakening in the air but it doesn’t “just show up.” It comes from a place of intimacy and hunger. As a body of believers, in Windham New Hampshire, the Crossing Life Church is choosing to accommodate the Lord. Their February 19th, 10AM Sunday service is still going.

It did not just happen, they have been asking for it, for years. This body hosts weekly prayer and monthly 24 hour “prayer Burns.” Structures exist to lead people to the Lord, and walk with them through healing, restoration, and growth in their spiritual walk.

But this is how revival works. It does not fall if we do not ask. Someone has to stop to invite the Lord, asking what the Holy Spirit wants to do. God is more interested in us being healed, filled, and sent out to tell others than we are. But if we do not rearrange our lives to God’s priorities, then what can we expect?

Arguably, all awakenings begin if two or three gather, and ask. Asbury has been asking For God to “do it again,” since the 70’s. 1 John 5:14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.” It all begins when we seek, knock and ask. Not just once, but until it falls. The prayers of the saints compound as they align with the times.

It is good to remember that Our Lord is over all creation. His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9) It is not only about me, or you. Awakenings are really what the Asbury University President Dr. Kevin Brown  wrote on Tuesday. “The trajectory of renewal meetings is always outward—and that is beginning to occur.”

What began, is truly going global. New Hampshire included. Crossing Life Church, sees their expression as a regional awakening. They are hosting now, praying for transformed lives that will accommodate the Lord for world-wide transformation. One life overflowing and poured out at a time.

What can happen if two or more gather, anywhere, to agree with the Lord’s desire for us to know him better,  experiencing His overflowing love?

Are we willing to accommodate the Lord of Love? Are we hungry for transformation? Can we dedicate time to ask? Minutes every day? An hour every week? Or something else?

If two or more, overflow to two more. . . each gathering to ask, I see Holy Spirit fires breaking out everywhere the Lord is accommodated.

About the author

Andrea Van Boven (Madden): I like to think I am a radical lover of Jesus, but I live in a house and pay bills and look like I fit in with respectable society, like most people. What goes on in my head and heart are hopefully the things that betray the look of "normal" that comes at first glance. I hope those things inside of me seep out to actions as well as words of hope and encouragement. I pray that these in turn will lead others to know the loving Creator who knows us so intimately that he has a number for every hair on every head.
