We are past the solstice of 2022. The winter solstice is the darkness day of the year in the northern hemisphere. I used to increasingly complain as the days became shorter. This year for some reason, I found myself almost cheering as the darkness increased each day. How can that be? It can feel so heavy when it is dead dark at 4pm and is not really gaining light until after 7am.
Somehow, I had a new found optimism about coming into the light of longer days.
I had a conversation with the Lord about my new perspective on the solstice. I sensed that as we seek the face of our Lord, His perfect light is able to cleanse us, from the inside out. As the darkness is dispelled, there is more room for the light of God to replace the darkness in us.
I was anticipating the hopefulness of fresh light, both physical and spiritual, to do its work in and through me.
Just like the natural, physical light from the sun increases daily for the next 6 months, may we bask in the presence of the Lord and allow his eternal light to cleanse us. Let’s allow our Creator: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to increasingly radiate through us, and from us, in fresh ways.
May we be like the people in the paintings of old with halos that distinguish us, and invites others, to the holy light of the Trinity.
This light is not really a circle around our heads. This light radiates from every pore as we cooperate with His holiness. It is not exactly seen with our natural eyes as a physical halo in the old paintings. But this light is evident with human hearts and spiritual eyes.
You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Thank You Father, that You would radiate through us. Cleanse us Father…
Amen!
I love that our Creator is more interested in us being clean. That is why Jesus came! As we cooperate with him, we can He calls, leads and empowers us to help transform our areas of influence. What a privilege!
Bless you Marlene!
