The glory of miracles belongs completely to our Creator, but our Creator invites us to partner with Him to make them happen. Jesus did many miracles while He walked the earth. He began by changing water into wine at the wedding in Canaan. He healed lepers, who were socially outcast and feared because the infirmity was not understood. The blind regained their sight, and the deaf could hear after being in His presence. He even resurrected some from the dead while He walked among us.
In John 14 Jesus is preparing his disciples for his departure. In this portion they are very uncertain about what their lives would be like apart from His physical presence.
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” v12-14
He not only invites us, but he commissions us to go and do miracles. And He does not leave us empty handed. In the next few verses, He promises the Holy Spirit to empower us.
Can we do the same works on our own? No, we need Jesus. But in the authority of His name, yes. (Phil 4:13) The glory of all these miracles belongs to our Creator. I personally know people Christ has used to bring others (yes, plural) back from the dead.
I have received prayer in Jesus’ name that brought instant healing for several things over the years. Most recently, my fading hearing was instantly restored in my right ear. Abba has used me to bring physical healingto others. The first miracle I know I was involved with was years ago that involved a car I prayed for. The mechanic volunteered it was a miracle it did not literally blow up before I got it to him.
How can we, simple people, do greater works? Check out dome of these verses, just to start. Ephesians 1:19-20; 2:6; 3:14-20 &21, just to start.

To wind up the sale on my book this month I share one more story. Henrietta Mears received several miraculous healings, especially when she was young. In one of those instances, there was a disease one winter that plagued the area. Young Henrietta and many of her peers suffered with it for months. One of them even died. She was literally bed ridden for months. She received prayer in the name of Jesus, and was the only one of her peers who did not have any lasting effects from it.
Why do I focus on miracles today? Because they do happen in our day and everywhere in the world. And because the glory of miracles belongs completely to our Creator. Jesus said it himself: “so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.” There is nothing special in me, or any person, that can make them happen in our own power. It is all about being in relationship with our Creator, through the Son.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 MEV
