A Holy Convergence Of Circumstances Brings Hope

Two rivers converge to make the Ohio River that later unify with the Mississippi*

A holy convergence is not anything I had heard of before, until I began to write this. As I was praying about this post I heard the word convergence. I listened for a bit and eventually felt lead to check the dictionary. Webster’s first definition is, “the act of converging and especially moving toward union or uniformity.” I knew about the coming together part of the definition, but the purpose here clarified several of my thoughts. The result of convergence is to bring two or more things together in unity.

Passover is a remembrance of a literal plague passing over God’s chosen people whose doors are marked with the blood of a lamb. It was a type of fore telling of Jesus as the Lamb of God. Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. His victory over death is the fulfillment of our salvation. These celebrations coincide fairly closely each year.

This year, the holy convergence includes a literal plague that, like the original Passover, has everyone in their homes. We 21st century people are not used to staying in our homes. This offers an opportunity for all peoples to be still and seek the face of God.

The events that have transpired since my post at the beginning of Lent have astounded the world. What I called realignment, Chuck Pierce and others have called a Divine Re-set. At that time I was writing for my audience, but what I sense now is much bigger than that. I believe this Divine re-set is first of all about the Church coming into alignment with one another. John 17 is all about that! If we can’t love each other then no one will see a reason to love Jesus.

So many people live without hope, in part because they don’t like Christians. I understand that. They may see Jesus as kind, but us? Integrity shares it’s root with the concept of wholeness, whole numbers, no part missing. It also means a person of integrity is the same in all different circumstances. Picture yourself at home, work, church, play…are you the same person in each of those different places?

We must repent of being a fractured bride. When the Church, the Bride of Christ, comes together in unity we will have the integrity and the power to bring the true message of hope through Jesus.

Passover and Easter always bring us the message of hope. Now with the convergence of a real plague we have a unique opportunity to seek the face of our Creator for the sake of humanity. I pray each one of us will choose to stand up and show ourselves as people realigned with God and His purposes.

This year, by the grace of God, Passover and Easter are creating a holy convergence to give us hope. Join me as we step into the flow.

About the author

Andrea Van Boven (Madden): I like to think I am a radical lover of Jesus, but I live in a house and pay bills and look like I fit in with respectable society, like most people. What goes on in my head and heart are hopefully the things that betray the look of "normal" that comes at first glance. I hope those things inside of me seep out to actions as well as words of hope and encouragement. I pray that these in turn will lead others to know the loving Creator who knows us so intimately that he has a number for every hair on every head.
